No Wipes Down Our City’s Pipes

This message is from the Junior High Competition Lego Robotics Team…

We have been studying our city’s wastewater process and discovered a problem with wet wipes being flushed down toilets.  These wipes get caught in the pumps and just one wipe can cost our city anywhere from $320 to over $14,000 to fix.  We would like to raise awareness of this problem by putting up a billboard.  Our Jean Day today helped us raise the money necessary to make this a reality.  Thanks for helping our project and our city.

Have a great week.

Homecoming Guidelines

The Homecoming Guidelines have not changed from last year.  The U.S. Bishops state that “as Christians we should dress in a modest manner, wearing clothing that reflects our reverence for God and that manifest our respect for the dignity of the liturgy and for one another.”  I do wish that you exercise modesty and sound judgments as you shop for dresses.  I understand the challenges we face, adhering to our Catholic Faith while trying to shop in an environment that does not always share our beliefs.  However, know that your help is greatly appreciated in supporting the message that we work to accomplish together each day.

3-Hour Delays

Some of you may have heard about a change that has been approved by the City Schools and one we will be participating in as well, 3-Hour Delays.

This school year, and likely into the future, we will be adding 3-Hour Delays as part of our Delay/Cancellation Schedule to help avoid lost days/hours of instruction.  These 3-Hour Delays will NOT include an extended day and will be used mainly for fog delays, to give a little extra time for the fog and/or roads to clear.  Providing for safe travel for our buses, staff, and students.

A 3-Hour Delay Schedule has been created and is attached below.

Have a great weekend.
