April 14th Newsletter

Dear Parent(s) and Guardian(s):
Attached below are the Guidelines that we will be instituting for this year’s Prom, hosted at St. John’s High School.  Please take an opportunity to look them over and help support our position of creating an atmosphere that lives up to the Catholic Values and Beliefs we try to instill in our students on a daily basis.  ***Please note there has been a change in the Male Guidelines, concerning the ability to wear a Suit.***  If you have any questions regarding the Policy please let me know.

Attached below is a letter to all Parents and Students that are interested in participating in the St. John’s Cheerleading Program for the 2014-15 School Year.  After careful deliberation and thorough discussion of our current program, it has been decided that a few changes will be made to help create the best Cheerleading Program possible for our students.

Attached below is a Guideline for the Formal Dress Policy that will be followed at our Senior Awards Ceremony.  If you have any questions if an outfit would be permitted please let me know, otherwise I appreciate your cooperation in helping to make this event a formal, professional, and respectable gathering, not only for you the parent, but also the students and community members that will be in attendance.

Attached below is brochure for the The Beach Blanket Benefit, April 26th. and we do not want you to be without your ticket.  For $60, you get put into the Reverse Raffle for cash prizes, and also have the chance to bid on items in the Oral and Silent Auctions.  Call 419-695-4050 for details on the Beach Blanket Benefit, and we can arrange for you to get your ticket.  We do have some tickets available….hope to see you there!
SCRIP News – The last day to place an order and receive credit for the 2014-2015 school year will beFriday April 25th.  All orders after that date will start accumulating tuition credits for the 2015-2016 school year.  To date, the scrip program has generated a profit of $57,515.00 for St. John’s.  Thank you to everybody who supports this program. 2014-2015 Senior Parents, if your only child at St. John’s will be a senior next year, you will be allowed to purchase SCRIP for a credit to be received at the beginning of April for your students Senior year.  This credit will be applied to your May tuition payment. We thank everybody who helped with the SCRIP program this year.  This program is run by volunteers and many of these volunteers also help at the Ministry Center sorting Chief receipts, boxtops, Campbell’s labels for education and stuffing envelopes for our large mailings.  Your help is greatly appreciated.

Assistant Cross Country Coach Needed – Due to increasing number of students participating in cross country. Our high school and junior high cross country coach Steve Hellman is looking for a volunteer assistant cross country coach to help during this upcoming season this fall.  If interested please contact Steve at 419-233-1870, email at smhellman92@watchtv.net or you can contact Todd Schulte at school.

As a reminder school will be dismissed at 1:30 on Thursday the 17th and we will have No School on Good Friday the 18th, and will return to school Monday the 21st, as our Make Up Day.  If you have any questions please feel free to call.

Please pray for a safe journey and successful mission trip, to the following students, Nick Bockey, Samantha Bonifas, Alicia Buettner, Madison Burgei, Quinn Wise, Zach Gable, Austin Heiing, Alyssa Martin, Colleen Schulte, and Samantha Wehri, and their Advisors Mrs. Elwer, Mrs. Haehn, and Father Dave, for giving their time and their selves to help those that are in great need.
