Dear Parent(s) and Guardian(s):
I would like to extend to you and your family the warmest of Easter wishes. All of us here at St. Johns are praying that you are able to spend time with loved ones this weekend, enjoy the pleasant weather, and find the time to participate in exciting events taking place within our Parish over the weekend.
A big thank you goes out to Mrs. Elwer, Mrs. Haehn, Father Dave, and all of the students that took part in a successful, meaningful, and life changing trip to Appalachia to help those that are less fortunate then ourselves. Their dedication and giving of themselves can be an example to all of us not only during this Easter Season, but as we go about our lives each day.
Attached below are the Guidelines that we will be instituting for this year’s Prom, hosted at St. John’s High School. Please take an opportunity to look them over and help support our position of creating an atmosphere that lives up to the Catholic Values and Beliefs we try to instill in our students on a daily basis. ****If you have any questions regarding if a dress and/or suit/tuxedo will be accepted, please error on the side of caution and follow the guidelines in sending a picture to our Prom Advisors for approval.**** If you have any questions regarding the Policy please let me know.
Attached below is a Guideline for the Formal Dress Policy that will be followed at our Senior Awards Ceremony. If you have any questions if an outfit would be permitted please let me know, otherwise I appreciate your cooperation in helping to make this event a formal, professional, and respectable gathering, not only for you the parent, but also the students and community members that will be in attendance. ****After discussion with our Dress Policy Committee, girls will be allowed to wear sleeveless or cap sleeve dresses without a cover-up, however any dress with a strap no matter the size or thickness of the strap will require a cover-up.**** Thank you again for your cooperation.
Please remember to purchase your tickets for the School Musical taking place Thursday and Friday (24th and 25th) at 7:30. Come out and enjoy a night at the Theater and watch as our students perform the musical Godspell. It will be night not to be forgotten, from such a talented group of students.
Mulch Sale – The Junior Class sold a total of 6377 bags of mulch. This is the second highest total of sales reached by any class, since the Mulch Sale began.
Please remember that delivery dates are Friday April 25th and Saturday April 26th. Pick up is Saturday April 26th in the grade school parking lot between 8:00am and 12 noon.
Students helping with delivery should report to the grade school parking lot Friday by 5:45pm and Sat by 7:15am. Students must sign in when they arrive to help deliver; be sure to check in with whoever is signing in students that day. Remember to wear old clothes!
Thank you to everyone who participated in helping to make this Mulch Sale so successful. Without your help and dedication this amazing accomplishment would have never been able to take place.
Yearbook Staff has been working on creating a book that captures all of the memories of your son or daughter’s school year. This year’s theme is “Leaving Our Mark.” Recently an order form went home to all families who have not yet ordered a yearbook. The deadline for guaranteeing a yearbook is Friday, April 25. Yearbook has made a personal goal of getting every single student in at least three different pictures within the yearbook. The price is $60.00 with additional personalization options available for an additional cost. Please make checks payable to Delphos St. Johns. Don’t miss your chance to get your child’s 2013-2014 school year captured forever.
Good luck to all the St. John Students that are competing this weekend, Baseball, Boys and Girls Track, and students participating in the various masses this weekend, continue the tradition of excellence that is St. Johns.
Have a wonderful weekend
Go Jays and God Bless,
