August 18th Newletter

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s):

As we begin to prepare for the start of the School Year, on August 25th, I wanted to provide you with a few items of interest that I hope make the transition to the start of the year a little easier.

Homecoming Guidelines
Below you will find the new Homecoming Dress and Conduct Guidelines for this school year.  These guidelines are very similar to those of Prom, with a few exceptions, due to the more informal nature of Homecoming, compared to Prom.  However, this event is still a school sponsored event and should reflect the morals and values represented by our Catholic Faith.  If you have any questions or concerns about the guidelines please let me know and I will be happy to help in anyway I can.

Student Registration
I wanted to thank all of you for your cooperation and help with Student Registration this year.  It was different, on a number of aspects, from the inclusion of the 7th and 8th Grade to the elimination of Freshman Orientation.  If your student(s) has not yet Registered please take a moment to stop by the Junior High/High School Office to drop off the appropriate paperwork, pick-up books and the class schedule before the start of the year.

I would like to apologize though for not being as clear as I could have concerning times, what would be taking place, and the involvement of the parents.  This is something that I plan on working on for next year, to make the experience as smooth and productive as possible, to eliminate any confusion.  If you have any suggestions of comments to make the Registration process better in the future, please feel free to share them with me.

Football Tickets
Football Tickets, including Reserved Tickets are still available for purchase in the office.  If you have not yet picked-up your tickets please do so, to support the Jays and the exciting Football Season ahead.

Comedy Night

Below you will find a flyer for the Comedy Night, presented by the Athletic Boosters.  Please pass this information along to everyone you know to encourage as much participation as possible.  The proceeds of this event help to benefit all of our athletic programs.  Thank you for your continued support.

Yearbook Information
As a 7-12 High School, we are now featuring the Junior High in the 2014-2015 Edition of the Delphos St. John’s Crest.  A letter attached explains the pricing and highlights the features of this keepsake that will last your son or daughter a lifetime.  We especially encourage parents of Junior High students to read the letter.
An order form is also attached that pertains to parents and guardians of all 7-12 students.  We are offering a back to school sale for this year’s yearbook.  Until September 26, you will be able to purchase the yearbook for $50.00.  After September 26, the price increases and continues to increase as we near the deadline for order submissions.  If you are planning on ordering a yearbook for your son or daughter, order early to save!
The 2013-2014 Edition of the Yearbook received the National Yearbook Program of Excellence Award.  We hope to continue this level of excellence in future editions of the Crest.

General Questions
If you have any other questions or concerns before the start of the school year please let me know as my door is always open, my phone always on, and my email always checked.

Good Luck to all St. John’s Students as they complete this weekend and throughout next week in their various activities.  Continue the tradition of excellence that is St. John’s.

Go Jays and God Bless,
