September 1st Newsletter

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s):
The First Full Week of school is officially complete, and what a smooth, successful, and productive week it was.  Your growing young adults were a breath of fresh air, in a building that has not seen life since May.  Their enthusiasm and kindness is a testament to you as parents and what we hope to continue to see as the year continues.

Weekly Calender
Until we have worked the technical bugs out of our Junior High/High School Calender on our website I will be attaching a weekly schedule to each Newsletter.  If you have any questions please feel free to contact the Junior High/High School Office.

Homecoming Guidelines
Below you will find the new Homecoming Dress and Conduct Guidelines for this school year.  These guidelines are very similar to those of Prom, with a few exceptions, due to the more informal nature of Homecoming, compared to Prom.  However, this event is still a school sponsored event and should reflect the morals and values represented by our Catholic Faith.  If you have any questions or concerns about the guidelines please let me know and I will be happy to help in anyway I can.

Comedy Night
Below you will find a flyer for the Comedy Night, presented by the Athletic Boosters.  Please pass this information along to everyone you know to encourage as much participation as possible.  The proceeds of this event help to benefit all of our athletic programs.  Thank you for your continued support.

How to Sign Up for Instant Alerts
There have some questions about signing up for Instant Alerts and I just wanted to take a moment to explain the process and an added sign-up I would like you to complete.

2.)  Select Delphos St. John’s
3.)  Click “Subscribe to Alerts”
4.)  Enter Your Name
5.)  Enter a Subscription Expiration Date when you would no longer like to receive Messages (this is optional)
6.)  Select Alert Method, Text or Email, and follow the corresponding instructions.
7.)  Select Lists to Subscribe to.  Be sure to select the “Delphos St. Johns Alerts-Schools”  and this is the new part, please select the graduating class of your student or students currently enrolled in the Junior High/High School.  This will allow me to send Alerts that will be affecting those grades directly, rather then school wide.  Please spread the word in letting others know to sign up, including students, so we can keep the lines of communication open.
8.)  Enter Characters Shown
9.)  Check the Box
10.)  Click Subscribe, and you are now added to our Text/Email Alert System.

If you have any questions please let me know.

Picking Up Students After School
If you have a Student in the Elementary please follow the Policy below.  As you will be assigned a lane that your Junior High or High School Student will need to know in order to be picked-up from school.  Please remember that your Junior High or High School student will not be dismissed at the same time as the Elementary, due to announcements taking place at 2:58 and the dismissal bell ringing at 3:00.  We do not want your Junior High or High School Student missing any unnecessary class time or information at the end of the day, so they will not be dismissed early.

If you do not have a student in the Elementary these are some options for you for pick up.  After 3:05, you can use the Elementary Pick-Up Lanes on the South Side of School, as at those times the late car-pool drivers will be pulling in. (It is outlined in the policy attached below)  You can use the Visitor Parking Spots in the East End Parking Lot, the Parking Spaces along Second Street, or pick-up your Junior High/High School student at Second Street doors of the Junior High School.

Little Caesars Pizza Sales
Order forms for the Little Caesars Pizza Sale will be going home next week.  As a reminder the Junior High, for every $100 worth of product they sell the more chances they have to be entered into a drawing for tuition money, in amounts of $250, $150, or $100.  The High School, for every $100 worth of product they sell the more chances they have to be entered into a drawing for gas and/or food cards in the amount of $100 (2 winners) to $50 (4 winners).

Go Jays and God Bless,
