Festival Weekend is upon us. I hope that each you have an opportunity to take part in the festivities in the Robert A. Gymnasium or enjoy a meal in the Little Theater or at home. This weekend is of great importance for our Parish, but it is also a time to be with family and friends, catch up with one another, and enjoy each other’s company, in an atmosphere of fun and enjoyment.
A Special Thank You to all the students and you the parents for taking time out of their day to work the Church Festival this weekend. You may or may not know but your student’s willingness to give their time is essential in the Festival being a success. Whether your son or daughter is waiting tables, working one of the enjoyable games, washing dishes, or carrying food, their help is greatly appreciated. This is simply another example of how our Catholic Family comes together; to put their own needs aside, to help continue the successful mission of our Parish and School.

Some of you may or may not be aware of this amazing way to purchase and utilize SCRIP on the go. However, I am including the website – https://www.shopwithscrip.com/ and our SCRIP Enrollment Code – 2LFE673218711, to help you take advantage of this service. By registering, you will be able to purchase SCRIP over your phone or device and utilize it almost immediately. As we all know, we have been in that situation, where we wish we had a SCRIP Card for a purchase, this service takes care of that worry. I hope it is something that you can utilize.
The Installation of The Most Reverend Daniel E. Thomas Mass will be celebrated at Rosary Cathedral at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 22, 2014. Through the generosity of both Sylvania Franciscan Health and The Andersons, the Installation and Mass will be broadcast live beginning at 2:00 p.m. on WTVG-ABC Channel 13, WTOL-CBS Channel 11, and EWTN on cable. The faithful are encouraged to participate through these viewing opportunities. We all pray that our new Bishop recognizes the importance and value of Catholic Education, how valuable our School Families are to their communities and future development of the child.
National Honor Society Induction
On October 23rd at 2:20, our National Honor Society will induct the new Junior/Senior Members for the 2014-15 School Year. This is a great honor and a reward for the hard work and dedication these students have put forth in their academic studies. A special thank you to Advisor Jason Bockey for his work in helping to make this a memorable event for both the students and parents.
End of the First Quarter
The First Quarter will be ending on October 27th. Shortly after student grade cards will be mailed home, with any other important documents that require your attention. If you do not receive your student’s report card by November 7th, please contact the Junior High/High School Office, so we can provide that to you.
Good luck to all the St. John Students that are competing this weekend in one way or another, bring home a win, as we are, Blue Jays.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Go Jays and God Bless,
