January 9th Newsletter

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s):

I hope all of you had a great opportunity over the Christmas Season to spend time with family, friends, and loved ones. We here at St. John’s are praying that all of you have a blessed and productive New Year.

It is wonderful to see all of the students back in the building, this is truly what makes education great. The building was quiet and lifeless without them, and now it is great to see the halls come alive with their conversations and energy to get back to their educational success.

I would also like to extend a special congratulations to Coach Elwer and his Staff on earning his 100th victory over Fort Recovery on December 19th. And to Wes Buettner who earned his 100th career victory during the Lancer Invite on December 13th.

Good luck to Mrs. MacLennan, Tim Staup, Mel Rode, and our VEX Team as they compete in Marion on January 15th.

End of the Second Quarter and First Semester
January 15th will mark the end of the Second Quarter and First Semester. It is hard to believe, but we are already half way through the school year. High School students will be taking exams on the 14th and 15th. Junior High students will follow the same schedule, but it will be at the Junior High teacher’s desecration if they require an exam.

Catholic Schools Week
Catholic Schools Week is quickly approaching. The theme for this year is Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service. On Sunday January 25th, there were be an Open House that will take place in the All Saints Gym. We are hopeful prospective students and their families will attend this event. As a welcome, we would like to introduce them to our St. John’s Families. This is where we need your help! We would like each family to create some type of “poster” representing their family. It should have your family name on it. Be creative! You can use pictures, drawing, words, whatever you would like to do. We are asking for one “poster” per family. Please have your child turn it in to their religion teacher by Tuesday January 20th. If you have multiple children, have the OLDEST child give it to their religion teacher. What a wonderful way for people to meet our St. John’s Families!

Open House
Please pass along this message to any families that you know are beginning to decide the educational future of their children.

On Sunday, January 25th, from 1:00 to 3:00 in the All-Saints Building they are invited to learn about a Tradition Worth Keeping of Faith, Knowledge, and Service at Delphos St. John’s Elementary and High School Open House. We invite everyone to see what we have to offer in courses, programs, and extracurricular activities. They will have the chance to meet faculty and staff, take a tour of our campus, and enjoy learning why Delphos St. John’s is a Tradition Worth Sharing.

Total School
Do I need healing? What makes you think that I need healing? These questions are the focus of our Total School effort for January and February. Over the next two months Total School will examine some of the everyday questions in our lives, and give us the tools necessary to help begin the healing process. I encourage you to join us as we participate in this event at Mass over the next two months.
