January 30th Newsletter

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s):

What a Catholic Schools Week. The weather held out for us and we were able to have a full week, with only a few minor delays. This week was chopped full of exciting events and student involvement. From writing Thank You Letters to local heroes to participating in a beautiful All School Mass, with a Pep Assembly to begin an exciting weekend.

A few of the things that are happening here in the future are outlined in the newsletter below. Including, Tuition Assistance, College Financial Aid, 4H Youth Meeting, Our New School App, Prom Information, Total School, Dan Schutte Visiting, Blizzard Bags, and purchasing a Yearbook. Total School
Do I need healing? What makes you think that I need healing? These questions are the focus of our Total School effort for January and February. Over the next two months Total School will examine some of the everyday questions in our lives, and give us the tools necessary to help begin the healing process. I encourage you to join us as we participate in this event at Mass over the next two months. Prom Information
Attached below are the Guidelines that we will be instituting for this year’s Prom, hosted at St. John’s High School. Please take an opportunity to look them over and help support our position of creating an atmosphere that lives up to the Catholic Values and Beliefs we try to instill in our students on a daily basis. If you have any questions regarding the Policy please let me know. These will also be going home with your son or daughter’s grade card if they are a Junior or Senior.

Tuition Assistance Scholarship
Over the past two years, Ohio Catholic has awarded $45,000 in Catholic education scholarships to families throughout the state of Ohio to assist in paying for a Catholic grade or high school tuition. They are proud to support the value of a Catholic school education and look forward to increasing their contributions for the 2015-2016 school year. College Financial Aid Information

4H Livestock Club Meeting

Blizzard Bags
Thursday, the 22nd we used our 5th Calamity Day of the School Year. As a result of using 5 days at this point in the school year, we will be instituting Blizzard Bags and their use for the next three days that we would be cancelled from school. Just as last year, text alert, television, and radio will notify you of our cancellation, included with that will be a notification that it is a Blizzard Bag Day. If you have any questions please refer to the letter below for more details, or feel free to give me a call.

Dan Schutte
Experience a Concert and Retreat with Dan Schutte at Delphos St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Dan Schutte has been composing music for worship for more than 40 years. On Friday, February 13 at 7pm in Church, Schutte will give a concert where a free will offering will be collected. On Saturday, February 14 at 9am-1:30pm, Schutte will lead a retreat at the All Saints Building. The retreat, “Walking the Sacred Path” is $20 and includes lunch. Yearbook Sales
Final Sale of Yearbooks: May 1st
Yearbooks are available for order until May 1, 2015 for $65.00. This is your final chance to guarantee a yearbook. Although we may have a limited number of extra yearbooks, those will be available on a first come first serve basis. To guarantee your son or daughter a yearbook, please order before this date. Personalization options are available at an additional cost.

The order form is attached. Please make checks payable to Delphos St. John’s. Turn in order forms with payment to the office or to Mrs. Stiffey.
