This week marks the end of February, and the beginning of March. I think we are all praying for better weather, a chance to get out and about, and enjoy the beginning of Spring. Let us just hope the weather will cooperate. However, this also marks a time when events, deadlines, and happenings in and around school begin to pick-up as the end of the year draws closer. Before we know it we will be celebrating our 8th graders as they are Confirmed on March 22nd, shortly after Easter will be upon us, followed by the School Musical, Senior Class Trip, Prom, and before we know it our 100th High School Graduation. It is an exciting Spring, and we are all looking forward to the fun and unique events ahead.
Congratulations to the Girls Basketball Team on their Tournament victory Wednesday over McComb and good luck to them as they continue their tournament run against Kalida on Saturday.
Congratulations to the 8th Grade Boys Basketball Team, on a successful season that culminated in a 2nd Place finish in the MAC Tournament. Thank you to all the players, coaches, and everyone else that made the season so successful.

Red Cross Blood Donor Day
On March 2nd the Red Cross will be here to conduct their Second Blood Drive of the school year. This drive will look to secure for us a scholarship for one of our Seniors, as long as we can reach a goal of 20 good units of blood. If you are in the neighborhood or would like to donate please feel free to stop into to school on Monday, between 8:00 AM and 1:00 PM.
Thursday March 5th, we will be having our Lenten Penance Service. Junior High/High School will be going at 9:45 AM.
To honor all the babies who have been born (or yet to be born) this school year, we would like everyone (if possible) to make a donation to Heartbeat of Lima. After confession, the students will come to the gift table at church and place their monetary donation in the “baby bottle”. Please encourage your students to bring change (or dollars) to the penance service, every little bit helps.
Lunch Account Reminder
Just a friendly reminder to please keep your student’s lunch account up-to-date. We have been seeing several students in the negative this week. Per our policy, each student has two (2) days to get their account into the positive before they are served peanut butter/jelly sandwich and milk. They are notified each day after their account falls below $10.00. Your help is greatly appreciated.
Science Equipment Fundraising
As you may or may not know, we are beginning an Appeal to raise monies to purchase new Science Equipment for our students to participate in more Lab Activities. Currently our 7 through 12 Grade Science Department has very little and outdated equipment they can use to connect the in-class learning to lab activities, in order to make Science come alive.
We are asking all Blue Jays, young and old, to consider making a donation, in any amount, as every little bit will help. Donations can be made by check to Delphos St. Johns and mailed to 515 East Second Street or through our Go Fund Me website with the address below.
Again, your help is greatly welcomed and appreciated.
