Dear Parent(s)/Guardians(s) and Students:
As we begin the Season of Advent and month of December many exciting things will be occurring here at school. Just this past week we were blessed to have our newest inductees to the Hall of the Fame speaking with our students, conducted a Penance Service, and collected toys for the Delphos Community Christmas Project.
Next week is no different as we look to celebrate the Immaculate Conception, collect household items for the Samaritan House in Lima, and welcome the Bishop, as he will be meeting with the Juniors and Seniors, touring the school, and eating lunch with the faculty and staff.
The Bishop’s Visit will be his every two-year opportunity to come to St. John’s and talk with our students about their faith, catholic education, and answer any questions they may have. We will be able to showcase our school, our staff, and students and their passion for St. John’s.
I have said it before and I will say it again. What an amazing place St. John’s is, where we are able to do all we do for each other and our community, and I thank you the parents for all your support in making this a reality.
Below is a little information about a Scholarship Opportunity, Youth Group, Samaritan House Collection, Career Day, Yearbook Orders, and a PTO Jingle Jog Walk.

Thirty-one St. John’s Juniors will be participating in a Career Day sponsored by Rhodes State College on Friday, December 11th. Juniors were given the opportunity to sign up and register for three sessions. These sessions range from nursing to brick laying. This is a great opportunity for the students to get a jump-start on what they think they might want to do when they graduate.
Career Day is an annual half-day event intended to provide 11th-grade students in Northwest Ohio an opportunity to explore 38 college and career-related sessions. Career Day differs from a traditional career fair by offering information through sessions, rather than by booths or exhibits. Our job is to encourage professionals to develop seminars highlighting career interests indicated on student surveys. Students register in advance and attend three different career sessions led by area professionals on Career Day, each lasting approximately 30 minutes.
Career Day sessions provide an opportunity for Northwest Ohio students to learn about the education and skills needed to enter and be successful in a specific career and/or industry from professionals first hand. Presenters are encouraged to discuss their own level of education, the skills they use regularly on the job, an overview of their typical day, and provide time for questions and answers.
We hope this is a great opportunity for our students that registered.

Did you know that local stores like Walmart and Meijer have recycle bins? You can return your plastic bags just inside the doors at these stores. So don’t throw those old ripped plastic bags in the trash. Take them to a store where they can be recycled into new plastic bags.
Attached below is a flyer for the Kiwanis Hometown Christmas, tonight. A thank you to the Kiwanis for helping to put on a special event for our community.
Good luck to all the St. John Students, that are competing this weekend in one way or another, bring home a win, as you have already made the Blue Family so proud of you.
Go Jays and God Bless,
