Dear Parent(s)/Guardians(s) and Students:
Thank you St. John the Evangelist Parishioners (Parents and Students) for supporting and celebrating Catholic Schools Week with us at St. John’s Elementary and High School. We look forward to continuing to serve as Principal-Ministers each day in our schools as part of the Parish Ministry of Catholic Education. Please know that we are grateful for all of the time, talent and treasure that you give to St. John’s! We are committed to maintaining and growing this great Tradition of Catholic Education in Delphos! God Bless you and Thank you! -Mr. Nathan Stant and Mr. Adam Lee
Happy February, and no better way to kick off February then with the start of Catholic Schools Week. This week the students were busy celebrating what makes St. John’s so special. From a History Fair (thank you so much Mrs. Recker), to Blessing of the Throats, to crazy hat/sock day, to an All-School Mass, to an All-School Pep Rally. This week just cemented how great it is to be a Blue Jay. Not to mention, our Seniors and Kindergarten Students were named the Class of the Week by WLIO.
As next week begins the start of Lent, it give us an opportunity to examine the purpose of Lent as the preparation, through prayer, penance, repentance of sins, almsgiving, atonement, and self-denial. As we await the death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Wednesday will begin our Lenten season as the staff and students will celebrate Ash Wednesday.

March for Life
Because of the blizzard warnings for Washington D.C. over the weekend of January 22nd, our students did not attend the March for Life. Some seniors chose to have their $150.00 refund applied to the cost of their senior trip to New York City in May. Everyone else received their refund in the form of a check. Those checks were distributed this past Thursday and Friday. Be sure to check with your son or daughter if you have not received this check.

Best Lent Ever
Have you ever had a memorable lent? More importantly, have you ever had a life-changing Lent?
Attached below is an informational sheet, provided by the Dynamic Catholic and Matthew Kelly, that could answer the questions above. Please take a chance and sign-up. Who knows, it could make for the Best Lent Ever.
The Junior High and High School students now have the opportunity to purchase uniform jackets/pullovers to be worn with their uniforms. Order forms will be mailed home with student report cards, as well as attached below. This is not a requirement, but just another option to go along with our existing uniform policy. There are two options for males, full zip and half zip, and they can be ordered in royal or gray. The females have the option of full zip, but can order the male half zip if they desire, sizes XS to 4XL are available. We will continue to monitor a pull-over option for the girls, and make it available, should one present itself. These options come in royal and gray as well. We are excited about this new addition to our uniforms, especially for our students in the winter months!! For girls, it is a substitute for a sweater or vest, and must be worn throughout the day. For boys, who rarely wear a sweater, it provides an option for the days the building may be a little chilly.
Proceeds from all sales will benefit St. John’s.
St. John’s Tie
We are now offering, as part of the uniform, but not required, a tie option for boys. For $15.00 the boys can add a little school spirit to their uniform, picture attached below. This could also be a great gift, for birthdays, graduation, or any special occasion. If you are interested please stop in the office or call, all sale proceeds benefit St. John’s.
Good luck to all the St. John Students, that are competing this weekend in one way or another, bring home a win, as you have already made the Blue Family so proud of you.
Go Jays and God Bless,
