Dear Parent(s)/Guardians(s) and Students:
Another great week at St. John’s, and a week to congratulate a few students on their accomplishments. Sorry if we missed anyone.
Thank you to Mr. Jason Bockey and Mr. Todd Laudick for organizing and feeding our students who qualified for the Academic Luncheon today. It is a small way to say thank you to those students that have worked hard to earn the 3.5 Honor Roll at some point this school year.
Congratulations to Evan Mohler and Trent Closson who will receive the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a Boy Scout, their Eagle Scout Award, this Saturday. This is a recognition of their tireless dedication to the program and service the Boy Scouts provide to our community. Only about 5% of all Boy Scouts ever earn this honor. To achieve this one must earn 21 merit badges, show leadership by planning, developing, and completing a community service project.
Evan’s project was building a Purple Martin birdhouse for Johnny Appleseed Parks. Evan felt this was a way he could give back to the park system while also providing a habitat safe for these birds.
Trent’s project was taking the time to upgrade the existing birdhouses around Johnny Appleseed Parks, and set-up new birdhouses in designated areas.
Congratulations to Curtis Pohlman, who was named as one of the Lima News Scholar-Athletes of the year.

Mr. Unterbrink would like all Seniors and their parents to be attentive to the attached list of local scholarships. The majority of these scholarships have deadlines in the spring of the year. For nearly all of these scholarships, Mr. Unterbrink has yet to receive this year’s application. Upon receipt of each of these scholarship applications, Mr. Unterbrink will be announcing them, and the criteria required to the Seniors during school.

Attached below are the Guidelines that we will be instituting for this year’s Prom, hosted at St. John’s High School. These guidelines must be looked over and followed to help support our position of creating an atmosphere that lives up to the Catholic Values and Beliefs we try to instill in our students on a daily basis. If you have any questions regarding the Policy, please let me know.
Reminder – All Dresses must be submitted for approval, to gain access to Prom. Please refer to the guidelines on how to complete this process.
It can feel good to be looked at, but remember do they really see the true you. In dressing modest young women can be known for who they are and not what they wear. Humility is the sentiment and modesty is how we live our lives so that God can bless us.
