Dear Parent(s)/Guardians(s) and Students:
Though there is a short week ahead, there are many things taking place as we prepare for the end of the semester and the start of the second half of the year. This Thursday and Friday, the High School students will be taking their Mid-Term Exams or Finals in Semester Classes. With this will end the second quarter on the 20th, with grade cards going out the following week. Junior High students will be testing, but the test will be determined on an individual basis by their teachers.
Congratulations and thank you to Mrs. Slawinski and the Choir members for their patience and willingness to perform their Christmas Concert, after Christmas, due to weather delays. They were able to extend the Christmas spirit a few more days.
Congratulations to Adara Fuerst who was Runner-up in the Geography Bee held on Thursday here at school.
Congratulations to our Lego Robotics Teams on a great season. The 7th-Grade team came in 9th out of 25 teams in the robot rounds. The 8th-Grade team did not fare as well in the robot rounds, but still did an amazing job. Though no one will be advancing to State, Ms. MacLennan and the students had a wonderful season.
Congratulations to Brett Vonderwell who finished 1st at the Catholic Invitational this past weekend. Brett is the first student from St. John’s to accomplish this feat. Great job Brett.
A few of the items below include the weekly calendar and schedule reminders, Open Houses, Prom Guidelines, Little Angles Music, Travel Opportunity, and the 300 Club.
New or Prospective Families
The link below is an invitation/RSVP to our Open Houses, taking place February 1st and 6th at 6:00 PM, in the Media Center. These Open Houses are for families that are interested in learning more about St. John’s, with the possibility of St. John’s becoming the school/parish for their child(ren). A meal will be provided by Dick’s Steakhouse, followed by casual conversation about what we have to offer and allowing the families to tour our facilities.
The best and most successful means we have available to spread the word about St. John’s and what we have to offer is you, our families. If there is anyone that you know that is looking for an educational change or starting their child’s education out on the right foot, please share with them this opportunity and join them one of these evenings.
Included is our Transfer Advantage Program, that all new families who have a student entering 1st through 12th grade are eligible to receive. Moreover, if you refer a family that decides to choose St. John’s, you will receive a $500 tuition credit for your family as well.
Again, we thank you for all of your support and dedication to St. John’s. You help ensure our Faith, Traditions, and Excellence remain possible.

Attached below are the Guidelines that we will be instituting for this year’s Prom, hosted at St. John’s High School. These guidelines must be looked over and followed to help support our position of creating an atmosphere that lives up to the Catholic Values and Beliefs we try to instill in our students on a daily basis. If you have any questions regarding the Policy, please let me know.
Reminder – All Dresses must be submitted for approval, to gain access to Prom. Please refer to the guidelines on how to complete this process.
It can feel good to be looked at, but remember do they really see the true you. In dressing modest young women can be known for who they are and not what they wear. Humility is the sentiment and modesty is how we live our lives so that God can bless us.
2016-2017 Yearbook for Sale – Great Christmas Gift Idea
Need a Christmas idea for your son or daughter? The 2016-2017 Yearbook capturing all of your son or daughter’s memories in one lasting place is a priceless gift idea! This year’s theme is jOURney. The yearbook staff is working hard to capture every student’s journey.
Win a Free Yearbook
Yearbook is trying something new to encourage students to submit pictures. The yearbook staff works hard to capture as many people and events as they can, but they aren’t always at the same places or making the same memories as other students. Students are encouraged to submit the pictures they are already taking. If a student submits a picture, and the picture is used in the yearbook, their name will be entered into a contest to win a free yearbook! Already paid? You’ll be refunded or we can apply the payment to next year’s book (your choice). Your son or daughter will be receiving more information about how to submit pictures in their religion classes. Yearbooks are a great and lasting treasure, but why pay when you can win one for free! Contest will only take place if at least twenty students participate. Encourage your son or daughter to submit their images to have a chance to win!
