Dear Parent(s)/Guardians(s) and Students:
From all of us here at St. John’s to all of you, we hope you had a relaxing, productive, and refreshing weekend. It is hard to believe, but March is right around the corner, and by around the corner, March begins Wednesday. As will Lent with Wednesday marking Ash Wednesday.
We hope that all of you have a productive and meaningful week ahead and if there is anything you need from us here at St. John’s, please let us know.
Congratulations to Brett Vonderwell and Evyn Pohlman on winning their respective weight class divisions in the Sectional Tournament held this weekend at LCC. Justin Wieging and Andrew Shawhan took fifth place and qualify as alternates for Districts held at Troy this coming weekend. Good luck men, bring home another Blue Jay victory.
Congratulations to Coach Elwer, his Staff, and the Boys Basketball Team on a great regular season, finishing 16-4. Good luck as the tournament begins this Friday at Ottawa-Glandorf.
Congratulations to Coach Grothouse, his Staff, and the Lady Jays Basketball Team, on a great season. Though it ended this week, these young women represented St. John’s in an exemplary manner. Thank you Seniors, Madilynn Schulte and Jessica Geise for your leadership and hard work throughout the season and off-season.
Congratulations to Chase Martin who earned 1st place at the Junior High Districts Championship at Vandalia Butler. Chase qualified to wrestle at the Junior High State Championships in Youngstown Ohio on March 18th. Gage Stemen, BJ Armstrong, Tyler Herron, and Clay Padubney also wrestled well but did not place. Congratulations to all these young men.
Thank you again to Carleigh Ankerman and all the students and staff who helped to make our Change Stall to benefit Hope Hollow such a success. Your generosity will go a long way in helping families that otherwise would struggle to pay for food, gas, and lodging, to stay with their loved ones as they undergo medical treatment.

We need your help. In cooperation with the Optimists and the Kiwanis, Mrs. May’s Fourth Grade students are collecting bottle caps and other items for benches to be put at the splash pad. The benches are made from recycled plastic caps.
The fourth graders have been collecting plastic caps for two years. However, in order for this to be successful by the time summer rolls around, we need more plastic caps. Caps can be turned into the Elementary Office, Mrs. May’s Classroom, or through any fourth-grade student.
More information is attached below.
Attached below are the Guidelines that we will be instituting for this year’s Prom, hosted at St. John’s High School. These guidelines must be looked over and followed to help support our position of creating an atmosphere that lives up to the Catholic Values and Beliefs we try to instill in our students on a daily basis. If you have any questions regarding the Policy, please let me know.
Reminder – All Dresses must be submitted for approval, to gain access to Prom. Please refer to the guidelines on how to complete this process.
It can feel good to be looked at, but remember do they really see the true you. In dressing modest young women can be known for who they are and not what they wear. Humility is the sentiment and modesty is how we live our lives so that God can bless us.

Married Couples/Couple’s Night Out
Attention young, married couples! What makes marriage work? According to For Your Marriage.org it’s communication, commitment, and faith. Our parish is offering support to young parents in their vocations as married couples and parents. Families are able to leave their child (ren) at the Annex one evening per month from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. Each family pays $3 per child, per night to cover costs. Each couple is required to volunteer one Friday, complete the Virtus online training and background checks. For more information contact Mikie Ricker at 419-863-0249 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
