March 27th Newsletter

Dear Parent(s)/Guardians(s) and Students:

Good Afternoon.

It is always sad when good things have to come to an end, but what an exciting week it was to be a Blue Jay.  However, with the end of anything always comes the beginning of something new.

Congratulations to Coach Elwer, his staff, the players, and cheerleaders on an amazing season.  A season where we saw this team win 18 of their last 20 games.  A season that brought home a Sectional, District, and Regional Championship, and solidified themselves as one of the best four teams in the entire State of Ohio in Division Four Basketball, out of 200 schools.  A team that will go down as one of the best, in the rich history of St. John’s.

Keep in your thoughts and prayers our student band members, parents, and Mr. Newell, as they will be in Florida this week to perform at Disney.  Every four years this is an opportunity for these students to display their talent and dedication.  After working hard for four years raising the money necessary to achieve this goal, it is a nice reward to them for all of their efforts.  While having the opportunity to do what they love and spreading a little Blue Jay spirit.

Today brings an end to the Third Quarter.  It is hard to believe but only 9 weeks remain in our school year.  Grade Cards will be going home as soon as possible.

With the end of one season, a new season is ushered in, whether that be Spring or the start of our Baseball, Track, and School Musical seasons.  We wish all of our students participating in anything this Spring the best of luck.  Make the most of each and every opportunity.

The link below is an invitation/RSVP to our Open House, taking place April 5th at 6:00 PM, in the Media Center.  This Open House is for families that are interested in learning more about St. John’s, with the possibility of St. John’s becoming the school/parish for their family.  A meal will be provided by Dick’s Steakhouse, followed by casual conversation about what we have to offer and allowing the families to tour our facilities.

The best and most successful means we have available to spread the word about St. John’s and what we can provide is you, our families.  If there is anyone that you know that is looking for an educational change or starting their child’s education out on the right foot, please share with them this opportunity and join them on April 5th.

Attached is our Transfer Advantage Program, that all new families who have a student entering 1st through 12th grade are eligible to receive.  Moreover, if you refer a family that decides to choose St. John’s, you will receive a $500 tuition credit for your family as well.

Again, we thank you for all of your support and dedication to St. John’s.  You help ensure our Faith, Tradition, and Excellence remain possible.

The deadline for purchasing a 2016-2017 yearbook is approaching.  The final opportunity to guarantee a yearbook is May 19th.  The final cost is $65.00.  Any extra books will be available on a first come, first sold basis.  Your son or daughter’s selfie won’t be around in 30 years, but their yearbook will!  Order today!

Prom Guidelines
Attached below are the Guidelines that we will be instituting for this year’s Prom, hosted at St. John’s High School.  These guidelines must be looked over and followed to help support our position of creating an atmosphere that lives up to the Catholic Values and Beliefs we try to instill in our students on a daily basis.  If you have any questions regarding the Policy, please let me know.

Reminder – All Dresses must be submitted for approval, to gain access to Prom.  Please refer to the guidelines on how to complete this process.

It can feel good to be looked at, but remember do they really see the true you.  In dressing modest young women can be known for who they are and not what they wear.  Humility is the sentiment and modesty is how we live our lives so that God can bless us.
